Artel Awarded DISA Global Network Services IDIQ Contract To Procure Network Solutions & Services

HERNDON, VA, January 2016 ― Artel, LLC, has been awarded a prime contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to support defense-related national security telecommunications requirements for the Global Network Services (GNS) contract.  The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, which has a value of $4.3 billion dollars, calls for telecommunication network solutions and services supporting the Defense Information System Network (DISN) enterprise-level infrastructure in order to provide DISA’s diverse mission partners with secure communications capabilities.  Artel is one of only eight prime awardees for the GNS contract.

The DISN provides global communications connecting deployed war fighters to each other and to their sustaining bases; U.S. forces to their coalition partners; and DoD components to intelligence, federal, state, and local agencies.  The geographic scope of the program is all regions and all theaters. The Government plans to use GNS capabilities to shift from the use of point-to-point circuits to newer technical approaches to meet contract requirements. Ultimately, this contract will design and maintain a single global network that will include all types of wired, wireless, and satellite communications with secure voice, video and data connections to support critical Department of Defense missions. Artel integrates capabilities from a team of established regional communications providers to ensure worldwide service coverage in support of the GNS contract.

Since 1986, Artel has delivered a full portfolio of satellite and terrestrial network communications and infrastructure, systems integration, cyber security, risk management and IT solutions.
