Transparency in Coverage Rule
In 2020, the Dept of Health and Human Services issued the Transparency in Coverage Rule, which requires insurance companies and plan sponsors of self-funded health plans to post Machine Readable Files (MRFs) related to negotiated rates for all covered items and services between the plan and the in-network providers.
